چکیده

With the present study we introduce a fast and robust method to calculate source displacement spectra of small earthquakes on local regional scale. The work is based publicly available Qopen full envelope inversion which further tuned for given purpose. Important parameters -- seismic moment, moment magnitude, corner frequency high-frequency fall-off are determined from by fitting simple earthquake model. demonstrated means data set comprising 2018 West Bohemia swarm. We report magnitudes, frequencies, centroid tensors inverted short period body waves with Grond package all magnitude larger than 1.8. Moment magnitudes calculated show very good agreement resulting probabilisitc tensor inversion. Furthermore, obtained multiple taper analysis direct onsets waves, but not affected large scatter second. moments scale frequencies according $M_0 \propto f_{\mathrm{c}}^{-4.7}$. Earthquakes result in smaller stress drop magnitudes. Self-similarity rupture observed. Additionally, frequency-dependent site amplification at used stations.

Seismic source modeling by clustering earthquakes and predicting earthquake magnitudes

Seismic sources are currently generated manually by experts, a process which is not efficient as the size of historical earthquake databases is growing. However, large historical earthquake databases provide an opportunity to generate seismic sources through data mining techniques. In this paper, we propose hierarchical clustering of historical earthquakes for generating seismic sources automat...

Scaling Relations for Earthquake Source Parameters and Magnitudes

A data set of 41 moderate and large earthquakes has been used to derive scaling rules for kinematic fault parameters. If effective stress and static stress drop are equal, then fault rise time, z, and fault area, S, are related by z = 16S1/2/(7~3/2~8), where ,8 is shear velocity. Fault length (parallel to strike) and width (parallel to dip) are empirically related by L = 2W. Scatter for both sc...

Fast and Robust Inversion-Free Shape Manipulation

We present a shape manipulation technique capable of producing deformations of 2D and 3D meshes, guaranteeing that no elements will be inverted. We achieve this by augmenting the quadratic ex-rotated elastic energy with additional convex terms that penalize the presence of inverted elements. Using a schedule of increasing penalty coefficients, we efficiently and robustly converge to an inversio...

Earthquake source scaling and self-similarity estimation from stacking P and S spectra

[1] We study the scaling relationships of source parameters and the self-similarity of earthquake spectra by analyzing a cluster of over 400 small earthquakes (ML = 0.5 to 3.4) recorded by the Anza seismic network in southern California. We compute P, S, and preevent noise spectra from each seismogram using a multitaper technique and approximate source and receiver terms by iteratively stacking...
